Fun Learning Activity: “Simple Present Battle” with Rock, Paper, Scissors

At our English course, we believe learning should always be fun and engaging! That’s why we’ve created an exciting activity called “Simple Present Battle” to help our students practice English in an enjoyable way.

What’s the game about?
Students play the classic game of Rock, Paper, Scissors but with a twist! After each round, the winner uses an English sentence in the Simple Present Tense to describe the outcome. For example:

  • “A rock breaks scissors.”
  • “Paper covers the rock.”
  • “Scissors cut the paper.”

If they say the sentence correctly, they earn points!

Why is this activity effective?

  • It combines language practice with a familiar, fun game.
  • Students learn how to use the Simple Present Tense in context.
  • It encourages active participation and boosts confidence in speaking English.

Who can join?
This activity is perfect for young learners who are starting to build their sentence structure skills while having fun with their peers.

We love seeing our students laugh, compete, and improve their English at the same time. At our course, learning English is always an adventure
